Starting from level 15, each player can get their first pet — a wolf. This cute little animal will become your loyal companion and reliable comrade. Call it during levelling to share the experience, and do not forget to feed it. The cute puppy will eventually turn into a formidable battle wolf.
Before you get a wolf, estimate the costs of levelling it up:
So, you've considered the pros and cons and decided — the wolf is essential. Life without it feels empty, hollow, and without meaning. Now, you have two options: purchase a collar from someone, or earn it by completing a quest.
If your finances allow, head to the market. Remember that a collar or necklace will display the wolf’s level, not its name. When buying a wolf, there is a chance you’ll end up with a pet bearing an unfortunate nickname. To avoid this, ask the seller to summon the wolf so you can check its name before finalising the purchase.
If your pocket is empty, then it's time to go to Gludin to NPC
Martin Pet Manager
,
to get the quest Get a Pet from him.
To summon the wolf, click on the collar or necklace in the character's inventory or the skill panel. You can't call the pet if the character is in combat or other creatures are summoned.
You can unsummon a pet by an action in the pet window. If the character leaves the game, the wolf is recalled automatically, except when the pet is dead.
Pet control commands are in the pet window. To open it, click on the wolf or the pet status window. You can move actions to the skill bar for convenience.
Name
Enter a name for your pet. This function allows you to assign a unique name, up to 16 characters long. Once chosen, the name cannot be changed and used by any other pet.
Pay attention!
Pet name change is available on MasterWork.

Your pet will either follow you or stay still. Use the command to leave your pet in a safe place or to order it to follow you. |
![]() |
Attack the target. Use this command to order your pet to engage your selected target. Once the target is defeated, the pet will follow its current movement setting — either remaining in place or returning to its owner. |
![]() |
Abort current action. Use this command to terminate all active actions of the pet. |
![]() |
Pick up nearby items. Use the command to pick up items dropped by a monster or thrown to the ground. Picked-up items will appear in the pet's inventory. |
![]() |
Recall Pet. Use this command to return your pet to your inventory. The wolf cannot be recalled while in combat or if its hunger level is below 50%. |
![]() |
Move to target. Use the command to send your pet to the selected target and follow it. |
Pay attention!
The wolf will not obey the owner if the character is 20 or more levels younger than the pet.
A wolf is a living creature and, like any living organism, wants to eat. When the hunger indicator drops below 50%, the wolf becomes hungry and cannot be recalled. A hungry wolf runs and attacks more slowly, and if the hunger indicator drops to zero, the wolf will die and disappear forever. To prevent this, do not forget to feed your pet.
Wolf food is sold by the NPC Pet Manager in every city. Drag the purchased food into the wolf's inventory, and it will eat it when the hunger indicator drops below 55%. You can also feed the wolf manually if it is very hungry. To do this, click on the food in the wolf's inventory. You can place the food on the skill bar to simplify the manual feeding process.
Pay attention!
On MasterWork, the hunger bar size and feed efficiency increased. If the hunger indicator drops to zero or the pet dies, it will disappear after 7 days.
Pets have inventory to store equipment, food, and various items. However, some consumables — soul shots, spirit shots, arrows, and others cannot be stored there. In other words, you can’t use your wolf as an extra backpack.
You can place healing potions in your wolf’s inventory to keep it healthy during combat. However, the wolf won’t use them automatically — you must assign them to the skill bar or keep the pet inventory window open to use them manually. The same applies to antidotes and potions that boost movement or attack speed.
Pay attention!
On MasterWork, pets can't pick up or store items other than healing potions, herbs, pet equipment, beast soul and spirit shots, and pet food.
Make your companion a true warrior — buy him iron fangs and strong armor. You can equip a wolf of
any size and age with a weapon, armor and jewelery. For new clothes for your furry friend, contact
the NPC Pet Manager, who is located in every city.
Don't forget
Beast Soulshot
NG
to make his attacks even more deadly.
Pay attention!
On MasterWork, exchanging weapons and armor for the Great Wolf has been made easier — gems are no longer required. However, the adena cost increased to balance the change.
To equip your wolf, drag a weapon or armor piece into its inventory and right-click it. Equipped items will highlight and remain in the pet's inventory even after the pet is unsummoned.
If a pet escapes from its owner due to hunger or death, all equipment will move to the character's warehouse.
Pay attention!
You can't transfer a wolf's collar or necklace to another player if any items are in the pet's inventory.
In the chronicles from Prelude to Interlude, the wolf gains experience if it attacks a monster. Starting with the Kamael, the wolf may not participate in battle. Now it gains a fixed percentage of experience.
If there is no penalty for the difference in levels, the wolf receives 35% of the owner's experience when killing a monster or raid boss. Experience for completing quests is not counted for pets.
There is no penalty due to the difference in levels if the wolf is not older than 10 and younger than 5 levels relative to the owner's level. In other cases, the proportions of experience sharing between the pet and the owner change.

The evolution to Great Wolf (available at level 55) was introduced in the Kamael update, while the upgrade to Fenrir (at level 70) was added in the Hellbound.
To evolve your pet, speak with any Pet Manager and select the "Evolve Pet" option in the dialogue. Before proceeding, summon your wolf and remove all items from its inventory. Also, ensure that you have only one wolf collar in your inventory.
Like any living creature, a wolf can die. If it does, it will remain at the location of its death and cannot be recalled if the owner logs out. However, if you use a teleport scroll, the wolf will travel with you. There are several ways to resurrect a pet:
If you are not a healer and want to level up your wolf as quickly as possible, your best option is
Blessed Scroll of Resurrection for Pets
NG
, which restores 100% of your pet’s lost experience. This scroll can be
purchased from the Priests of Dawn and Dusk for 6 000 Ancient Adena.
If you do not watch your pet, it can run away forever. That happens in two cases:
In these cases, the wolf's collar or necklace disappears from the character's inventory. All items that were in the pet's inventory will move to the character's warehouse.
The wolf is a spoiler’s and support’s best friend, prized for its high physical attack. However, it comes with notable weaknesses — low physical defence and limited health. Raising a wolf often involves frustration, tears, and a lot of resurrection scrolls.
Wolves have special equipment — weapons, armor and jewelery. You can buy it from the NPC Pet Manager located in each city. If the best equipment is beyond your means, take a lower-quality one and improve it gradually. The cost of equipment and improvements is at the end of the article.
On MasterWork, the Wolf has an experience rate corresponding to its level. For example, for the first stage, the EXP rate corresponds to the level 1-29 rate x3, level 30-51 rate x1. Based on this:

The Great Wolf is the second stage of the wolf’s evolution. Its appearance evolves with its level. At levels 60 and 65, equipped armor becomes visually displayed.
The Great Wolf significantly outperforms the regular Wolf in stats and, with quality gear, can serve as
a powerful damage dealer. It can still use standard Wolf equipment, which can be upgraded to Great Wolf
equipment by the Pet Manager. Remember that Great Wolves only eat
Great Wolf Food
NG
— regular Wolf Food will not suffice.
The Great Wolf's levelling speed differs from that of a regular Wolf. It receives 35% of the experience from its owner. The experience penalty for the difference in levels is in the Levelling section.
Along with evolution, the Great Wolf gains new skills:

Fenrir is the third stage of the Wolf's evolution. The main difference from the Great Wolf is that Fenrir can be saddled.
An icon appears in the character's actions when Fenrir is summoned (C shortcut)
Fenrir's levelling speed is no different from that of the Great Wolf. He receives 35% of the experience from his master's. The experience penalty for the difference in levels is described in the levelling section.

The Snow Wolf and Snow Fenrir are a privilege of clans that own clan halls in Aden and Rune. If you are a member of such a clan, contact the Clan Hall Manager to exchange the Great Wolf or Fenrir for a Giant Snow Wolf or Snow Fenrir.
The Snow Wolf Necklace is bound to your character and cannot be traded to other players. If you leave the clan or lose access to the Rune or Aden clan hall, you can't summon the Snow Wolf.
Contact the NPC Pet Manager to exchange the Snow Wolf for a regular one.
The snow version of the wolf is different from the common one:

1. Talk to NPC
Martin Pet Manager
. He tells you that a pet is a big responsibility,
you need to pass tests and prove your seriousness of intentions to get a tame wolf.
2. The first test is to reduce the spider population. You must get 50 fangs to complete it. Items do not drop from every monster!
Martin Pet Manager
returns
Animal Slayer's 1st List
NG
, which specifies which monsters should be killed.
For each race, the locations and monsters are different.

3. When you have collected 50 claws, return to Gludin to
Martin Pet Manager
. He will take the claws and send you to the second test — an interview.
Martin will give
Animal Lover's List
NG
, with whom you need to talk and find out more
information about wolves.
4. Your first target is
Bella Gatekeeper
in Gludio. In the pre-GoD chronicles, she could be found
near the Einhasad Temple. On MasterWork, however, she resides in the central square.
5. The second target is
Metty Guard
at the southern gate of Dion.
6. The last person you talk to is
Ellie Accessory Merchant
in the Giran Jewelry store.
7. After talking to all the NPCs and collecting information about the wolves, return to
Martin Pet Manager
.
It's time for the third test — you must pass the exam. After all, only a well-educated and responsible player
is worthy of becoming the owner of a wolf.
Answer the questions correctly and get
Wolf Collar
NG
If you got the answer wrong, you can try again. To do this, you must talk to Bella, Matty, and Ellian and answer the questions again. Note that the questions are asked in a random order each time.
