Exp Boost Guide

Basics

Levelling up your character is a crucial aspect of gameplay. The primary factor influencing the rate of experience gain is the EXP rate. In MasterWork, this rate varies based on the season stage and the character's level.

In the second half of the season, we add weekend rates:

  • + 50% EXP when killing Monsters
  • + 100% SP when killing Monsters

You can find the current rates for your character on the forum in the latest patchnote.

In addition to the rates, some items and the Vitality level affect the levelling speed. In this article, we will tell you how to increase the experience gained using all available game methods.

Vitality

On the MasterWork project, the Vitality system has been redesigned to ensure equal opportunities for all players. The experience bonus from Vitality has been slightly reduced to narrow the gap in levelling speed between players who use items to restore Vitality and those who progress without purchases. For the same reason, we have also removed the Nevit system.

Basic game Masterwork
Level 1 150% of experience and SP gained 125% of experience gained
Level 2 200% of experience and SP gained 150% of experience gained
Level 3 250% of experience and SP gained 175% of experience gained
Level 4 300% of experience and SP gained 200% of experience gained

Vitality increases the experience gained from killing monsters. It does not affect the experience gained from killing bosses or completing quests.

The experience bonus from Vitality is calculated after applying rates to the base EXP and SP gained from killing a monster.

An example:

  • Character — Level 50
  • Monster Demonic Sepulcher Inquisitor Lv. 52 — 11 732 EXP
  • Rates at the current stage of the season — EXP x5
  • Bonus from 2nd Vitality level — +150% EXP

Let's calculate how much EXP a character with Vitality level 2 will receive for killing a monster:

  • Rates — 11,732 * 5 = 58 660 EXP
  • Vitality bonus — 58,660 * 1.5 = 87 990 EXP

As a result, for killing a monster, the character will receive 58 660 + 87 990 = 146 650 EXP.

For effective levelling, we recommend maintaining a high Vitality Level. Passive maintenance is available in two ways:

The Premium and Vitality Rune effects are cumulative — when used simultaneously, the character will always have 2 Vitality Levels, which gives a +150% experience bonus.

EXP+SP Runes

MasterWork utilizes EXP+SP Runes to boost the experience and skill points gained from defeating monsters and bosses. Different types of Runes can be obtained through various methods.

At the beginning of the season, these Runes are only sold for Ivory Coin by the Adventurers' Guide. At later stages, they can be purchased from the L2Store and the Butler's Shop.

These Runes can also be obtained for completing missions, activating bonus codes, or as a compliment from the administration. At later stages of the season, these Runes are added to the starting inventory of new characters.

Runes are sold in a package with an unlimited lifetime. After unpacking, they go into the quest inventory, and their timer continues even when the character logs out of the game.

At the start of the season, these Runes are available exclusively in the L2Store, with a purchase limit of one per day. As the season progresses, the limit gradually increases and is eventually removed entirely.

These Runes can also be obtained for completing the Clan Academy, various missions, activating bonus codes, or as a compliment from the administration. In the middle stages of the season, these Runes are added to the starting inventory of new characters.

When activating two Runes with different bonus values, the character receives the effect of the one with the higher bonus.

These Runes are rarely used and are only available as a bonus from the administration for new or returning players.

The bonus of these Runes stacks with the bonus of the Runes +30% and +50%.

The experience bonus from Runes Exp+SP is calculated after applying the rates to the base EXP & SP received for killing a monster.

An example:

  • Character — Level 50
  • Monster Demonic Sepulcher Inquisitor Lv. 52 — 11 732 EXP
  • Rates at the current stage of the season — EXP x5
  • Rune bonus Exp+SP — +30% EXP

How much EXP a character receive with the Achievement effect for killing a monster:

  • Rates — 11 732 * 5 = 58 660 EXP
  • Exp+SP Rune bonus — 58 660 * 0,3 = 17 598 EXP

Total for killing monster 58 660 + 17 598 = 76 258 EXP.

Interaction of bonuses

All available methods for increasing experience are calculated after applying rates to the base EXP and SP earned from defeating a monster, and their effects are then combined.

An example:

  • Character — Level 50
  • Monster Demonic Sepulcher Inquisitor Lv. 52 — 11 732 EXP
  • Rates at the current stage of the season — EXP x5
  • Bonus from 2 Vitality level — +150% EXP
  • Rune bonus — +50% EXP
  • Bonus from Achievement effect — +30% EXP

How much EXP a character with the Achievement effect receive for killing a monster:

  • Rates — 11 732 * 5 = 58 660 EXP
  • Vitality bonus — 58 660 * 1,5 = 87 990 EXP
  • Rune bonus — 58 660 * 0,5 = 29 330 EXP
  • Bonus from Achievement effect — 58 660 * 0,3 = 17 598 EXP

As a result, for killing the monster the character will receive 58 660 + 87 990 + 29 330 + 17 598 = 193 578 EXP.

Based on the examples given, it is essential to retain two key points:

  • All experience bonuses are summed up after applying rates, not multiplied
  • Bonuses from Runes and Vitality are also combined but calculated separately. Runes are applied to the base experience with the rate, excluding Vitality, while Vitality is calculated independently of Runes.

Any experience bonuses are personal. They apply only to the experience your character gains and are not shared with the group.

Premium, Vitality, Runes and Daily Online Reward are exclusively your personal boosts.

Recommendations

Here are some recommendations for using different experience-boosting methods based on your gameplay situation:

Bonus Profitable Doesn't make sense
Vitality

Provides a significant bonus to EXP while actively farming monsters.

If you have a Premium account or Vitality Runes, it's best to use them together to consistently maintain Level 2 Vitality (+150% EXP) for maximum experience gains.

If your main source of EXP is quests or killing bosses.

Vitality will have no effect when experience is not gained from killing monsters, as it exclusively boosts EXP from monsters.

EXP+SP Runes

When actively levelling up a character in areas with a high mob density or fighting bosses.

As the season progresses, the different Runes become more available, so it's worth checking for new options.

Use the opportunity to get free Runes from bonus codes, missions and other sources.

If you have limited time for levelling, remember that the Rune timer continues even while offline. Activate Runes only before long gaming sessions.

If a more powerful Rune is used, activating a lower one will have no effect since only the bonus with the highest percentage works.

Bonuses for online

If you play the game for more than 60 minutes a day, Achievement bonuses will increase the amount of EXP points you earn.

This bonus is useful when farming bosses, as it affects them as well.

If you do not plan to play actively for a long time, as the achievement is updated daily.
