Basics

Pailaka is a one-time quest with a strictly limited level. To complete it, players must pass an instance. The reward is Experience and SP points, useful items, and Vitality points.

On MasterWork servers, this quest is available to players level 58 ~ 70

Quest guide

Talk to NPC Devil's Isle Survivor Pailaka - Devil's Legacy on the left of the Giran temple to start the quest. He will teleport the character to an instanced copy of the Devil's Isle.

You have 90 minutes to complete the instance, and 180 minutes to re-complete it if you fail.

Useful information

In different parts of Devil's Island you will find a Treasure Chest and a Powder Keg.

Break Treasure Chests to get useful items:

Divine Soul NG — A potion that imposes Holy on weapons
Quick Healing Potion NG — Instantly restores HP
Pailaka Instant Shield NG — Potion that gives invulnerability
Pailaka Antidote NG — Antidote that relieves paralysis
Long-Range Defense Increasing Potion NG — Increases defense against ranged attacks
Pailaka All-Purpose Key NG — A key that can open any door in Pailaka on Devil's Island

Powder Keg explodes and deals area damage when attacked. Use ranged or tiger skills to damage monsters near the Kegs.

"Some time ago, powerful pirates came from the other side of the sky and occupied Devil's Isle. I believe they are the ones who touched Zaken's relic. I don't know what they've done, but since then the monsters have become especially violent — now nobody can even set foot on the island."

Near the entrance to the Devil's Island caves, talk to NPC Devil's Isle Supporter and receive Ancient Legacy Sword B .

Equipped sword adds Summon Tigress Lv. 1 skill. It summons a tiger, which will help in the fight with monsters.

"This sword is an ancient relic of the Devil's Isle. It was used to destroy those who fell under the curse. Faering its power, they were finally able to weaken it by sealing away a few of its powers in a number of scrolls.

...there are several Dwarven adventurers also trapped on the island. Take the sword and a Scroll of Enchant Weapon to one of them and they'll make your weapon even more powerful..."

"The enemies who invaded Devil's Isle are Lematan's Followers. Four of them are especially dangerous: Kams, Hikoro, Alkaso and Gerbera. Some of them will have Scrolls of Enchant Weapon. Defeat them and you can enhance your sword and Tigress... and become powerful enough to destroy Lematan."

From a conversation with the Supporter we learn that the leaders keep scrolls of sword enhancement. We set off to search.

First target is Kams Panuka Lv. 61 , lives in the second room. Kill Kams using the quest weapon.

For killing the monster you will receive the Pailaka Weapon Upgrade Stage 1 NG . Go in search of the dwarf, who will help improve the weapon.

"Ah, an adventurer who wields the Ancient Legacy Sword has finally come! Since you have made it this far, I will place my trust in you as well!"

A couple of rooms later, we meet Dwarf Adventurer . After a short dialogue, the Dwarf upgrades our weapon to Enhanced Ancient Legacy Sword B . Don't forget to call off the tiger to give the sword.

The enhanced sword has a new skill — Ice Ball Lv. 1 , which deals damage.

The dwarf informs us that the weapon can be improved once more. We set off to find the next scroll.

The next enemy is Hikoro Panuka Lv. 61 , located in the second room with barrels. Don't forget that the barrels explode when attacked and deal decent area damage. This can be used when fighting monsters and Hikoro.

There is no drop from this monster, we are looking for the next minion of Lematan.

We find Alkaso Panuka Lv. 64 in the far part of the caves.

Kill the old pirate, get Pailaka Weapon Upgrade Stage 2 NG

We talk to the Dwarf Adventurer, who is in the same room. He improves our weapons to Complete Ancient Legacy Sword B .

The Complete Sword has a new skill — Ice Ball Lv. 1 , which when used deals damage.

The sword is now fully upgraded, it's time to go in search of Lematan.

On the way to the last boss we kill another minion — Gerbera Panuka Lv. 64

On MasterWork was added NPC Zaken's Teleporter, which will send you from the "tongue" directly to the entrance to the ship, bypassing an unpleasant place with complex geo data.

The final boss meets us near the waterfall — Lematan Lv. 67

To avoid fighting Lematan's minions, take the boss directly to the deck. When Lematan has a little health left, he will start to run away. Kill the boss before he runs away or summons minions after he returns to the deck.

After Lematan's death, the Dwarf Adventurer will appear on the deck. Talk to him to get your reward.

"It is my imagination, or did your body just become a bit blurry? You don't look like you're from around here... Am I right? You appeared just as suddenly as those pirates!... Anyway, thank you."
